About the event
This workshop introduces delegates to key concepts in Psychodynamic theory.
The main tenets of psychodynamic theories lie in the concept of unconscious processes and the transferential relationship existing between the counsellor and their client. Delegates will gain an understanding of Melanie Klein' Object Relations Theory, and the nature of the therapeutic relationship and the therapeutic process whilst exploring their own Object Relations including experiential execises to enhance self-awareness and how these might manifest in the client / therapist dyad.
•Klein’s developmental positions
•Examples from practice and/or experience
•We consider how these concepts may manifest in therapy
•We examine the impact of child development on adult relationships
